UAE Central Bank issues commemorative coins

In DHABI The Central Bank is issuing commemorative coins to celebrate the memory of Shaikh Zayed

There are two gold and two silver coins to be issued in memory of the Late President Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, founder of the UAE.

The gold coins weigh 60 and 40 grams respectively, and will be sold at the gold price on the day of sale, plus additional costs estimated at Dh60.

The commemorative silver coin has a denomination of Dh100. and weight of 59 grams. It depicts the portrait of the Late Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, while on its back there is an image of the Shaikh Zayed Mosque. It will be sold at its face value plus Dh20

The coins will only be available at the bank counters with effect from March 11 but it is expected they will eventually find their way to the west where they will command a good price.

Those interested may purchase the commemoratives gold and silver coins from tellers at banks operating in the UAE. Each gold coin will be sold at the yellow metal price on the day of sale plus the additional costs estimated at Dh 60, while the silver coin will be sold at its face value plus the additional costs at Dh 20.
