Winter Coin Auction
A winter coin auction is scheduled for Tuesday the 7th of march at Smythe’ Auction Gallery in New Your City.
At the auction will be some high quality rare coins and coin sets including
PCGS Choice Brilliant Uncirculated 1907 $20 St. Gaudens High Relief,
PCGS Gem Proof 1909 $5 Indian Gold Piece, a PCGS Choice Brilliant Uncirculated 1795 Flowing Hair Dollar,
An NGC Proof 1861 [Scott restrike] Confederate Half.
Also there will be a fine selection of Colonials starting with an Extremely Fine 1652 Oak Tree Sixpence, a wonderful collection of Wisconsin Civil War Tokens put together over fifty years ago, and a high-grade collection of Barber Quarters and Half Dollars. A Proof Morgan Dollar collection is complete from 1888-1893.
This large selection of gold coins will also include many examples from the Charlotte and Dahlonega Mints.
A Brilliant Uncirculated 1801 $10 Capped Bust is representative of the early U. S. gold coins in this sale.
A good example of the lots that will appeal to dealers is a grouping of Choice Original BU rolls of Lincoln Cents including 1909 VDB, 1920, 1926 and 1933. There are also significant sections of Patterns and Foreign Coins, as well as a few Ancients.
