2006 Gold Bullion Half Sovereign

The British Royal Mint has the 2006 Gold Bullion Half Sovereign still available even though there was a limited issue of only 75,000 minted.

This is a traditional sovereign design coin with the reverse displaying that most celebrated of Sovereign designs – the image of St George slaying the Dragon by Benedetto Pistrucci. The obverse carries the greatly-renowned portrait of the Queen by Ian Rank-Broadley FRBS.

This is an exceptionally well designed and popular coin. Being only half a full sovereign and much less than an ounce makes it a more affordable buy than the full one ounce gold coins, especially at today’s gold prices.

Nevertheless it is still a collectors item and makes an ideal savings or investment gold coin

Each Sovereign is struck in the finest quality 22 carat gold and eloquently captures every detail of the design. The polished coin is housed within a beautifully illustrated presentation card.

Specifications:
Alloy 22 Carat Gold
Weight 3.99 grams
Diameter 19.3 mm
Denomination HALF SOV
Obverse Designer Ian Rank-Broadley FRBS
Cost is about 52 British pounds (around 90 USD)

If you are looking for the smaller gold coin that is more economically affordable yet still able to be accumulated and saved for that rainy day then you will not be able to go past the 2006 Gold Bullion Half Sovereign.
