Emu Gold Coin Fauna Gold Series

The gold coins are half ounce, one tenth ounce and one twentieth ounce proof quality 99.99 percent pure gold.
These gold coins are available either singly or as a five coin set.
They are Australian Legal Tender and are very well packaged and come with a Numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
Issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965, the coin depicts Ian Rank-Broadley's effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on its obverse.
The coin's reverse depicts an Emu (Dromaius noveahollandiae), Australia's largest bird. Although it cannot fly, an Emu's powerful legs mean it can run as fast as 50 kilometres an hour over the continent's dry plains. Emus are ratites, the oldest of modern bird families. Their primitive feathers help them survive in a wide variety of climates, including the snowfields of Australia's high country. The year-date and The Perth Mint's traditional āPā mintmark also appear in the design.
Each coin is housed in a superb presentation case with a lid made from Australian jarrah timber. The case comes in a protective outer shipper featuring Discover Australia's distinctive logo.
Emu Gold Coin Fauna Gold Series has a limited mintage. The Perth Mint will release no more than 1,000 of the half ounce, 2,500 of the one tenth ounce and 25,000 of the one twenty-fifth ounce gold coins world wide.
The Emu gold coins are beautiful and make an ideal addition for those collecting the Fauna Series of coins.
