2007 UK £5 Gold Proof Diamond Wedding

As a celebration of the Diamond Wedding anniversary of the Queen and Prince Philip this year, the Royal Mint has been authorised to strike an official limited-edition commemorative 2007 UK £5 Gold Proof Diamond Wedding crown bearing two specially created designs.

This impressive gold proof coin is struck in 22 carat gold and features on the obverse the conjoint portrait of the royal couple by Ian Rank-Broadley, FRBS. This coin is the result of several months of work including commissioned photographs and two private sittings for the artist at Buckingham Palace.

According to the British Royal Mint, the rarity of this conjoint portrait is founded by the fact that this is just the fifth time in British numismatic history that two portraits have been united on a coin. Created by one of the Royal Mint’s highly skilled engravers, Emma Noble, and complementing the obverse, the stunning new reverse design bears a beautiful depiction of the north rose window at Westminster Abbey.

The edge inscription on this superb commemorative issue includes the wording ‘MY STRENGTH AND STAY’, taken from the Queen’s Golden Wedding anniversary speech in which she pays tribute to her husband’s continued support.

Struck in 22 carat gold., only 2,500 gold Proof crowns are available worldwide with each being beautifully displayed in an elegant presentation case.

Accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity signed by the Deputy Master of the Royal Mint.

The new gold Proof crown is just £775.00 or around 1500 USD.

This 2007 UK £5 Gold Proof Diamond Wedding will be highly desirable to collectors and will be a treasured keepsake of a landmark and momentous occasion in British history..
