2007 Sydney Harbour Bridge 1/25oz Gold Proof Coin

The 2007 Sydney Harbour Bridge 1/25oz Gold Proof Coin struck by the Perth Mint, Australia, is an extremely desirable commemorative coin.

It celebrates the 75th anniversary of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, which opened in 1932.
The coin’s reverse depicts the iconic steel arch bridge, also known locally as the "coat hanger" due to its obvious resemblance, which spans the sparkling waters of Port Jackson between Dawes Point and Milsons Point. The Bridge is often the focal point for celebratory fireworks and special events.

The bridge was the city's tallest structure until 1967. According to Guinness World Records, it is the widest long-span bridge in the world and is the largest steel arch bridge with the top of the bridge standing 134 metres above the Harbour.
As well as the words SYDNEY HARBOUR BRIDGE, the 2007-dated coin also includes the Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark.

Issued as legal tender under the Australian Currency Act 1965, the coin depicts the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on its obverse.

The coin, which is accompanied by a Numbered Certificate of Authenticity, is housed in a stitched leatherette presentation case within an illustrated box shipper.

Only 100,000 of these commemorative gold coins will be released by The Perth Mint

2007 Gold Proof Sovereign

The British Royal Mint has just issued the 2007 Gold Proof Sovereign, one of the most well known and love coins in the world.

The sovereign was one of the first English coins ever to be minted and goes back to 1489.

The gold Proof sovereign is available individually and features Pistrucci’s classic St George and the dragon design. Each coin has been minted to the exact weight and diameter of the first modern sovereign on 1817, and is accompanied by a colorful booklet incorporating a Certificate of Authenticity attesting to the coin’s worldwide issue limit of 10,000.

In addition there is also the 2007 Gold Proof Sovereign Three Coin Set.

Now this Set includes the half-sovereign, sovereign and double-sovereign. Each of the gold coins features Pistrucci’s famous St George design. All have been struck to exacting Proof standards in 22 carat gold. Their beauty is further enhanced by the frosted relief, a technique employed exclusively for Proof coins.

Each set is beautifully housed in a luxurious green leather presentation case and is completed with a numbered Certificate of Authenticity attesting to the strict issue limit of just 750.

The British Royal Mint has also issued a 2007 Gold Proof Sovereign And Half Sovereign Set and these are housed in an attractive black velour presentation case and are accompanied by colorful booklets incorporating their Certificates of Authenticity.

So there is quite a selection of the 2007 Gold Proof Sovereign with a half and a double gold proof sovereigns also available.

These sets all have a limited mintage, the sovereign 10,000, and the three coin set only 750. Given the popularity and the limited issue it is likely these sets will be snapped up very soon and it is likely the value of the 2007 Gold Proof Sovereign will increase nicely over time.
